SCI 8: Emerging Genres in Scholarly Communication
Unless otherwise noted, all sessions will be held in the Harrison Institute/Small Special Collections Library. The Harrison Institute/Small Special Collections Library is located on McCormick Road, adjacent to Alderman Library, on the University of Virginia grounds.

Wednesday, July 14
Charlottesville’s “Van on the Go” will provide transport to and from the Harrison Institute. Please meet your shuttle driver in the lobby of the Omni Hotel at 1:00 PM if you would like to come to the Harrison Institute early to set up wireless access. The vans will shuttle back and forth to pick up everyone for our 2:00 PM start time.

Based on outcomes from morning sessions, discussions will focus on developing reference models for various significant genres. A model embodies a shared understanding of the processes of scholarly production, from research through the publication and archiving stages. It helps to identify roles and responsibilities of those engaged.
