The Scholarly Communication Institute announced today that Richard Lucier will retire from his position as Director of SCI, and that Abby Smith will become Director, effective immediately. Bethany Nowviskie is to become Associate Director. More details and a full press release are available.

The seventh iteration of the Scholarly Communication Institute will be held June 28-30, 2009 at the University of Virginia Library, and will focus on technologies and approaches for the representation of place and (geo)spatial relations. Learn more under “Current Institute” on our website.
